Automatic image uploads in wordPress.root

There’s a new version of the wordPress.root, version 0.54, with a few new features and fixes.

See the docs for the previous version for installation instructions and tips on creating new posts.

The main new feature in this version is automatic image uploads.

After installing wordPress.root, look in the OPML folder. You should see WordPress watched folder as a sub-folder.

To upload a new image to your WordPress blog, drag a GIF or JPEG file into that folder. Within a few seconds the image is uploaded. A bit of HTML text opens in a separate window in the OPML Editor. Paste that text into your blog post.

The file is consumed in the process, so only feed it copies of files.
